Guide to Finding a Coffee Table

 

 

When it comes to choosing the perfect coffee table for the living room, in theory it should be a mighty difficult task. The desired coffee table needs to be practical yet stylish and in keeping with the ambience and theme of the rest of the room. It can often be thought of the statement piece of the room, shedding some light and a subtle hint to the home owner's personal style, taste and character.

However, with a little determination and a good idea of what style of table would suit your own living room best, finding it should be an enjoyable mission! With consideration to the colour scheme of the room and the style, whether it be anything from old Hollywood glamour to French Riviera chic, your chosen coffee table should incorporate all this and compliment the room. Here are a few ideas and some of my favourites:

Tufted ottoman coffee tables are perfect for adding a touch of classic opulence to the room.

Trunk coffee tables are a true statement piece to any living room. Whether it be a vintage trunk or a more modern one like the glass trunk above, its uniqueness utters modern chic.

Marble top coffee tables exude Parisian grandeur and elegance, ideal for rooms that feature a lot of gold and brass with a neutral colour palette.

Bone inlay tables are one of my favourites and it's not hard to see why looking at the turquoise design above. It emanates Moroccan essence that somewhat makes it quite enchanting.

 

 

 

 

Apartment Therapy: Calm Courtyard 

 

I came across this courtyard design on Apartment Therapy's website. I love the way the small space has been used and in fact because of this it looks really homely. The use of the aqua blue colour with the coral orange against the white wicker furniture creates a very beachy Californian feel. The white hanging lanterns on the trees make the place look very calm and peaceful. Keeping it simple and stylish....a girl's paradise!
